Double handed handshake

Rapport Handshakes

Here both people have their hands / palms in the vertical position and both people exert the same amount of pressure.

Cold Clammy Handshake

When we are nervous blood drain away from the hands to the arm and leg muscles to get us ready for a flight situation. In addition we sweat more when nervous.

The Left Side

In photographs, the person who stands on the left is thought by viewers to be dominant. This is because its now easier to get the dominant hand position when hand shaking. JFK was renowned for this.

Double Handed Handshake

This increases the power of the initiator because it overpowers the recipient's right hand – their right arm cannot cross the front of their body as a form of protection. This hand shake should only be used with someone you know.
