Research is showing that people learn better with a "hands on" approach i.e. they learn
the facts and the "know how" but must also be able to apply this
knowledge to real world applications.
Science is starting to point towards evidence that intelligence doesn’t just stand still i.e. "you either have it or you don’t." Environmental and emotional factors have a huge bearing on intelligence and so when we are talking about intelligence we should really use the word potential.
Motivation has a huge impact on learning: It is dependent upon self assurance, self esteem and the final goal.
